    Android vs. Windows 8

As you probably know by now, Microsoft's upcoming operating system, Windows 8, is going to be released in a few months and a lot of companies have already announced tablets and smartphones running this OS. In fact, I've read that some companies have abandoned Android for their upcoming cell phones. Do you think that Windows 8 will be the biggest competitor for Android in the following years?

Well, Undoubtedly, Windows 8 will be the extreme competitor of Android. But, if we talks about today's time, Android is just going on Demand. It's really one of classy featured operating system. I am totally crazy about it. It's really technological!

really depends on how the new os will be accepted by the laptop / desktop world. If it flops like vista did then it really opens the door for another software company to gain market share. Much like apple did after vista went south. I don't think Microsoft can afford to have another flop like that. But we'll see. Look what the wii did for video gaming. And that os has alot of features designed to sell and promote Microsoft mobile platform.

It may be a tough competitor, but I don't think it is going to beat Android in popularity. Microsoft should have left the mobile industry to Android, iOS and Blackberry. Aren't they gaining enough money from desktops and laptops?

@ Alec79, I'm not familiar to the Wii. What happened to it?
