Do hibernating apps use the battery?

When your apps are hibernating, are they still wearing down your battery? I believe they do. There are so many apps out there, but I worry about having too many, just for this reason.

From what I've read, I would say that even hibernating apps will drain your battery. Computers that were set to hibernate have still had battery drains. So, I guess hibernating just slows the battery drain, but it apparently doesn't stop it.

It depends on what their purpose is. Some of them will go dormant and have no effect on the battery, while others use resources even when not officially active, due to checking for updates, and such.

When they are hibernating, the apps are still on. They may not be active, but they are just waiting to be activated. I am sure they don't drain as much as when they are on, but they are still working on your battery.

Apparently, there are many apps that drain the battery. I once came across some battery saving tips sometime back. I knew nothing about hibernating apps and their effect on the battery.

Drain some yes but not drain all of it at least I would think not. I am surprised when people do not research before installing things on their phone, then again people still do not do that on a PC either so I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised.

This is a great topic - I had no idea that hibernating apps would use the battery. I just thought that if you were not using them then they would not suck the battery! Good to know that some will. I guess you need to be sure that you only have the apps that you really need or want.
