    Does Google discontinue Android versions?

Sorry if this may sound like a stupid question, but I'm not sure I've read anything about it so far... Does Google discontinue the older Android versions after a period of time, like Microsoft does with the Windows versions? By "discontinuing" I mean seizing to offer support for said versions of the operating system...

I haven't seen anything definitive, but I'm guessing they will at some point. Actually, I was just looking at the sub-forums here and it looks like Cupcake and Donut are already forgotten.

I wonder this too. I guess Google should have started announcing a discontinuation of the initial Android versions (considering that a few years have passed since then), but there are no news on this issue so far...

I don't think there are people who still use Cupcake or Donut smartphones...

We'll live and see. I don't think there are still people who use such old versions of OS so maybe this would be an explanation, GadgetGrace.
They shouldn't do this though. We pay good money for our gadgets they should offer us the support we need if we need it. I can understand not getting help immediately because other requests for newer versions might be more important but they should not discontinue the support altogether.
