    Buying A Phone From A 3rd Party

Amazon.com is selling a phone that I'm thinking about buying. I've already done some research so I know which carriers the phone will work with - AT&T or T-Mobile. My question is, will it cost me extra to have a phone bought from a 3rd party hooked up with one of these carriers?

I don't know, but it's possible. Cell phone carriers usually want you to sign up for service and use a phone that you buy from them. If you bring your own phone in with you, there might be an activation fee or something like that.
