Are you able to upgrade the OS yourself?

I'm kind of clumsy when it comes to this and I always ask for help. I'm afraid I'll ruin my phone so I prefer someone with experience does the OS update when I decide I need one. Can you do this yourself though? How hard is it to make an upgrade ?

i've never had to do it but i'm sure its just a zip file to the root directory and boot into recovery. It shouldn't be that hard. what are you trying to upgrade to ICS?

What phone and what upgrade? The more information given the better others can assist you. I can tell you first hand though the first time I did this myself I was a little nervous but get over that hump the first time and then its like second nature.

I've never had to do it, even though I've heard it's pretty easy. Still, if I'll ever want to, I have a friend who is very good at this.

I was referring to phones in general, I've had mine upgraded already but I went to the service and asked the guys to do it for me. Left the phone there and came the next day to take it home. I know it's silly but I prefer to have my phone safe rather than having to buy a new one.

No, I always ask my husband or go to the service and ask the guys there to help me. I have had 2 upgrades up until now and I had nothing to do with the process.

Yes, I could upgrade it myself but I still prefer going to someone who has done this 100 times before. If I break something it's gonna cost me more than a simple upgrade so I prefer to ask someone with experience to do it for me.
