    Rooting without a computer

I've never rooted a smartphone without using a PC (well, in my defense, I've only rooted a couple of devices so far), but I recently understood you can do so. I was just searching for tutorials on how to do so, and I was surprised to see it wasn't that difficult...

Do you use a PC to root your phones?

I don't know about now, but there used to be an app called z4root. It could do temporary and permanent root. I don't think it works for any newer phone though.

z4root doesn't work on any of the recent devices. I don't know whether it was 2010 or even earlier when the app became obsolete. I think I used this app some years ago to root one of my first smartphones, an HTC Touch Diamond...

It seems different to use a PC to root your smartphone. Maybe searching a tutorials on how to do so is a good method for us.

I have only rooted my phones with the help of a PC. I didn't know there had been an app for this. Well, just my luck to find out about a cool application a few years after it was discontinued... I hope someone makes a decent app for rooting the latest smartphones without using the PC.

I don't get it..why all the fuzz about this? It's not such a big deal. I'm doing this pretty often. As for the apps, there's one called Connectify. Work just fine for me.
