    Rooting My HTC Inspire

I have an HTC Inspire running Gingerbread. I had been planning to upgrade to Icecream Sandwich for a long time. By the time I was ready, Jellybean was making its debut. Now I'm not sure, could my phone handle Jellybean, and if so, is it worth rooting my phone to get it? I've read multiple ways to root the HTC Inspire and they all seem different. How can someone know that they're choosing the right method? My phone is all bogged down now and needs a restore no matter what, I just want to make the right choice so i don't have to do it more than once.

    I appreciate any advice.

If you were to root this phone, I wouldn't suggest upgrading to Jelly Bean. I think the HTC Inspire is too slow and it isn't powerful enough to run an operating system that is a lot more advanced than Gingerbread. I think Honeycomb would be the most stablest operating system but you could try for ICS and it could work for your phone.

HoneyComb is for tablets only. Won't work on the Inspire. ICS should work though. @Animachine, Let me try and write up a simple, failsafe step by step root guide for the Inspire. That should be helpful for you
